Lonzo Ball Says He Found Out Lakers Traded Him On Twitter

Lonzo Ball found out about his trade to the New Orleans Pelicans with the rest of the world.

While chatting about his recent move on Real 92.3 LA's Big Boy Neighborhood, the former Los Angeles Laker revealed he found out he was a Pelican "on Twitter."

"We [were] in the car. We had just left my grandfather's house on the way to [my little brother LaMelo's] Drew League game, and somebody [asked] me 'did you see Twitter?' And they were like, 'We just got traded,' Lonzo recalled, noting that he along with his teammates Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart all found out about their trade to New Orleans online. "That's how we found out. [...] I don't know everybody's situation, but that's how we all found out."

As fans know, a little over two months ago the Lakers sent the former No. 2 overall pick, along with Brandon and Josh, to the Pelicans as part of the Anthony Davis trade.

Despite finding out about his move to the Pelicans on social media, Lonzo said he wasn't upset by the actual trade, in fact, he saw it coming. "I kind of knew I was going to get traded," he admitted. "I've just been in trade talks for so long and then it's Anthony Davis, you know? LA going to do what they got to do to have superstars. I kind of had a feeling."

He did, however, admit to taking the trade personally. "I think you should," he told Big Boy. "I mean, they got rid of you. They don't want you no more, so you got to take it personal."

All in all, the point guard said he's "excited" to have a "new beginning" with the Pelican organization and thinks his junior season will go well.
