The latest rumors out of Los Angeles have LeBron James allegedly interested in playing for the Dallas Mavericks because he thinks they have a better shot at a title than his current squad and Doug Gottlieb doesn’t want to hear it. LeBron claims to want another championship before he retires but clearly isn’t willing to give up the bag he’s earning in Los Angeles to make it happen with another team. It’s obvious he’s not going anywhere.
Doug Gottlieb: “(LeBron James) wants it out there; he’d rather play for the Mavericks than play for the Lakers. That’s what he’s saying. He’s saying, if all things were equal, he would rather play for the Mavericks. They’re not equal, so he’s not willing to sacrifice to play for the Mavericks…Don’t tell me you want to play for somebody, don’t tell me you want to play for championships, and then you’re not willing to sacrifice $40M when you’re worth 30/40x that.”
